Thank you for your interest in the 2009 UNSW Intensive Course on Health, Development and Human Rights, hosted by the cross-faculty UNSW Initiative for Health and Human Rights (IHHR).

PURPOSE OF THIS EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

All applicants, including professional and UNSW student participants, interested in participating in the Intensive Course on Health, Development and Human Rights, 7 - 11 December 2009, must fill out the following Expression of Interest (EOI) form and return it to the IHHR. All applicants who meet the English language requirement and can demonstrate academic or professional experience in health, development and/or human rights activities will be considered by the Course Director, Prof. D. Tarantola. Those applicants confirmed by the Course Director will then be invited to complete a course registration form, including the payment of course fees.

Participant places are strictly limited. Therefore, we encourage you to return this form as soon as possible. The first round of EOI applications will be considered in July 2009. Further places will be offered on a first-come first-serve basis until all places are filled. Applicants may request to be placed on a wait list should all places be filled; they will be subsequently advised by the IHHR if places become available.

UNSW STUDENT PLACES

A unique feature of this course is its cross-disciplinary focus. Therefore, a limited number of places are made available to UNSW postgraduate students from the Faculties of Law, Medicine and Arts & Social Sciences and other faculties. Students are required to complete an Expression of Interest form. Once students have been accepted into the course, they will be required to fill out a course registration form and then be manually enrolled by a School of Public Health and Community Medicine administrator in either course code PHCM9663 (6 units of credits) or PHCM9664 (8 units of credits) depending on the student’s postgraduate program. PhD students who wish to participate in the Course will need to seek supplemental funding from their School to attend the course and should contact IHHR for further details.
