University of New South Wales - The Initiative for Health and Human Rights

The IHHR is comprised of the NewSouth Global Professor in Health and Human Rights with a small research and staff assistance team, along with members drawn from schools and centres of the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Law and Medicine.

The IHHR is being directed and governed by three separate bodies:

The Management Committee
The Steering Committee
The Advisory Board

Management Committee

The Management Committee is responsible for overseeing the financial and organisational management of the IHHR. It is composed of the NewSouth Global Professor in Health and Human Rights along with two representatives from the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Law and Medicine.

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is responsible of overseeing and steering the scientific work of the IHHR. It derives its membership from the three constitutive faculties and representatives from non-government organisations such as the Australian Indigenous Doctors' Association and the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations.

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board of the IHHR provides the broad direction and ensures the effective operation of, the Initiative in accordance with the university's policies and mission. Its members include the Deans of the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Law and Medicine, the NewSouth Global Chair in Health and Human Rights and prominent members of the community.
